Dr. Magnus ThorssonCanna Curious founder

A trailblazer in cannabis education, developed the world’s first four-year program in cannabis entrepreneurship, combining his expertise in teaching (M.A.T. from Bennington College) and consumer behavior (Ph.D. from Iowa State University). His work centers on consumer leisure motivations, specifically within experiential learning. As founder of Edutouring, Dr. Thorsson successfully launched immersive tourism programs across New England, partnering with Elderhostel and Road Scholar to create hands-on experiences like cultural cooking classes, wellness retreats, and adventure tours, designed to engage older adults through meaningful learning.

Dr. Jason Iannuccillivisionary leader

Dr. Jason Iannuccilli is a visionary leader in the cannabis wellness space, combining his medical expertise with a commitment to advancing safe, science-backed cannabis practices. As the founder of Purevita Labs, he brings his extensive experience in clinical research to the cannabis industry, focusing on developing high-quality, data-driven solutions that prioritize patient health and wellness.

Dr. Iannuccilli’s work centers on refining cannabis analytics, setting standards for purity, potency, and efficacy that help consumers make informed choices. His background in minimally-invasive treatments and diagnostics fuels his dedication to evidence-based cannabis use, ensuring that wellness products meet rigorous clinical standards. Through Purevita Labs, Dr. Iannuccilli is at the forefront of promoting transparency and elevating the role of cannabis in holistic health care.

Mike Simpson M.A, A. M. Founder, Farmer & Professor.

Mike Simpson is a seasoned cannabis industry professional with over 15 years of experience in advocacy and education. As the Co-Founder of Lovewell Farms in Hope Valley, RI, he established the state’s only USDA organic hemp farm, successfully partnering with over 50 vendors throughout New England. Mike manages a dedicated team, oversees marketing initiatives, and ensures compliance with industry regulations. Previously, he served as the Deputy Director for Regulate Rhode Island, leading volunteer initiatives and organizing rallies to advocate for cannabis policy reform in the state. His earlier role as Initiative Coordinator for the Marijuana Policy Project involved significant contributions to expanding Maine’s medical marijuana program. An educator at heart, Mike teaches U.S. History at Johnson & Wales University, where he integrates his extensive knowledge of policy, law, and social justice into the history and government curriculum. He holds four degrees, including a Master of Arts in History from Brown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion from the University of Maine, focusing on the religious use of drugs. In addition to his teaching, Mike is a published author on cannabis-related topics, contributing to various publications on cannabis history and regulations.

Dr. Michael J. Budziszek, Ph.D.Scientist & Professor.

Dr. Michael J. Budziszek is a scientist and professor with over 20 years of experience in molecular biology, cannabis science, and sustainability. At Johnson & Wales University, he co-developed the Cannabis Entrepreneurship program and created advanced cannabis cultivation and extraction labs. As Chief Scientific Officer for The Hippothecary, LLC, and Rhody Farms, LLC, he bridges academic research and industry practices, earning recognition as a leader in cannabis education and innovation.
